Does anyone have a pole barn builder they recommend in WC WI (Dunn County)? Looking for a two car garage and a insulated shop. Just starting the process. Thanks as always.

We have had two buildings built in the last 5 years. One northland building a 36'x63' 12' walls and our barndominium that I had northland & Cleary both bid out and we ended up with the Walters building! I wouldn't build a northland building. Morton & Lester sure make very nice buildings but they aren't shy about the pricing lol.

Thanks I have messages out to Walters, Lester and Northland. I'm thinking of something along the lines of this type of structure. Would likely do gravel for the garage and then a concrete shop floor. Hoping to get budgetary figures so I can plan the scope soon.

Your second picture of the dark red with brown wainscot shed is the same building colors I had northland build at my dad's cabin down the road. 36x63x12 with a 6ft overhang down the side. I will take some pictures if I get a second this weekend.

I wanted to go with Walters on mine. I had to a heck of a time even trying to talk to someone who did bids. I called all around their company in multiple locations. I finally had a salesman from Augusta call me back. I told them what I wanted (40x 50) barn. Never heard from them again even after calling and emailing time after time. I'm done with them. I'm pretty sure I'm going with Wick now.

Walters is over priced and over marketed, I had the same experience ... sent multiple inquiries in and never got a quote. If the sales people can't or won't respond, you'll receive satisfactory customer service.

Try contacting these folks ... https://clearybuilding.com/

Either that or talk to a local builder, they have a vested interest to do the project right.

Those are nice looking buildings. My friend had a 36x30 Walters building put up a few years ago. It turned out really nice. Good luck with with there sales department thou. Our horse barn at home is a Northland. It is 20 years old but I wasn't very impressed with it since the day it was built. A few of the panels rusted out and the roof leaks all over the place. The header in the back is sagging. The doors are junk. All around just a poor quality building. I don't know if they are any better now but there is no way I would go with them again.

Did you use Cleary? I have had mixed reviews from people that used them. I know they usually come in with the cheapest bids. I did that with our Northland. I don't want to get burned again. I'm going to spend a little more this time and hopeful get a better building. I really liked the quality of Walters buildings but I think just like you do. If I have to beg them to even talk to me about a building what kind of service should I expect if they do decide to build it.

Rusk ... where are you located at?

I have not used Cleary but a neighbor of mine did and he was happy with his building. One of my neighbors just used these guys ...

The building looks very well put together & designed.

I haven't heard back from Lester. Northland doesn't do site prep and I'd prefer a turn key package... The rep from Northland is also out of the office until August and every-time I ask for a update to the quote it seems to be a inconvenience... Awaiting a bid from Walters. Met them a over a week ago and they are waiting on the site prep portion to quote out. Initial rough estimate was 40K range which is higher than I want to spend right now, but that was just his guess pre-drawings or site prep eval. I reached out to Clearly this morning to see if they are more responsive than the others. Thanks all for the input.

The hunting land where I'm putting the shed is in Bruce, WI. I live in Burlington. Thanks for the pinno attachment. I never heard of them but think I might give them a call. I never thought it would be this hard to get someone to build you a 30-40k building.

That's why I suggested a local builder. The big named metal building folks want a certain size bldg & gross margin to justify travel to site and coordinating local sub-contractors. Find someone you trust or get a referral to a contrcator locally and I think you will be pleased by both price & commitment.

Don't measure the brand name, evaluate the types of buildings they have built and then talk to the local references they give ... :emoji_wink:

I could give you the salesperson info from Walters that built my place if you would like. Our building is in winter wi just northeast of you, he was easy to deal with and it turned out great.

I just received my bid from them. Great looking buildings. They came in quite a bit higher than any other bid I received and they want to go 2ft smaller.. I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for, if they can come down a bit I would like to go with them.

What size is your shed quote and what is the quote if I may ask? I am looking at building a shed at my house west of Appleton and have not started the process yet.

I am looking for a simple shed in the 30x60 range but haven't narrowed even that down yet. Was hoping to keep it under $30k

I got a few quotes for around 32x32, some a little bigger. Overall the bids were in the mid 30's. Some included site prep, others did not. My storage needs aren't huge, so I am going to look at smaller stick built with a lofted living quarters instead.

You can never build it toooooooooo large

I just saw tonight that my 50 x 88 showed up on the county GIS site. You are right... never too big.
