Check out the Grant $$$ the DNR gives out to 16 different MDHA chapters,Pheasants Forever, NWTF, and other MN conservation groups. I wonder if any of these grants are approved for enhancements done on private land for local conservation non-profit groups. I'm guessing not.

Joe-It looked like most of the work was done on public lands from what I see.

t the regional MDHA meeting in Brainerd/Baxter there was a request for some funds from chapters for some project on what I think was the Dry Sand WMA. I think it was matching funds for the CPL.

Imagine if they dumped $100 worth of spruce and dogwood plugs into every 40 acres of WMA in the state what good it could do.

One of our sportsmen's club bought the land, donated it to the state, and planted those. So far the spruce have been left alone. The cottonwoods/HP that were planted are cut out and some of the other things. Local manager wants to manage it for knee high NWSG instead. That results in less deer for him to worry about. He has succeeded.

Nothing quite look good intentions being shot to hell in a hand basket by a different management goal!

That manager has missed the mark on so many issues......seems he should be flipping burgers instead of managing wildlife.

foggy, that is how he paid for his drinking habit while he was supposed to be getting that wildlife degree.
