Looking to buy Crispin apples

Does anyone know where I can buy a box of crispin apples. They are my mothers favorite and we can buy them here. I don't care about shipping costs or price. When your mother is pushing 80 she gets what she wants :)

You could try the Cornell Orchard. That is a variety they grow. They have not started picking yet.

But the easiest way might be talking to a few grocery stores locally. See if they can special order them for you.

If you are talking about my local grocery stores they do not carry Crispins. My mother use to get them form an elderly gentleman that would drive to NY and then back to WV to sell them at fall festivals and the like. He passed away. My mother is diabetic and she eats a lot of apples, apparently they are good to keep her blood sugars level over a long period of time through the day. Crispins just happen to be her favorite. I planted some but my trees are not producing yet.

Your local grocery chains may not carry Mutsu/Crispin but still be able to order from their distributors. You just need to talk with whoever does their produce ordering. The average worker stocking shelves won't know but the store manager should be able to help you find the right person.

WTNUT I should have some when I get back to my farm on Wednesday if they are ripe. Probably enough to fill a box

I have crispins just need to know if they are ripe enough. Will check the data for my area. I tasted one and it was pretty good

Here is the half bushel of apples I picked today for your mom. Do they look acceptable? It's an overflow 1/2 bushel. I will send you info on price in pm but I couldn't post this pic there
