It's beginning to look and feel more like fall.

That looks like one of those spots you better be on alert sitting in. If you can't hear them coming out of that thicket they could be gone in flash. I like those thick spots.

Yep. Great spot on a frosty morning. Not ideal for a quiet wet morning.

Sat in my stand on public for an hour and a half this morning with no luck. Got down to scout a little farther in and kicked up a buck. Was able to stop him with my grunt call and get to within about 50 yards twice after that. Call would get him to stop and look around for me, but wouldn't come my way. Finally lost him in some thick stuff.

Still holding off. Come on last week of Oct and a weather front!

I haven't hunted yet either. Another 10 days or so and we'll be ready for battle.

I wouldn't want that walk on a warm day. Beautiful though.

Finally made it out for an October sit. Watching a pinch between pines and hardwoods, with an ocean of corn to the north. Looking forward to a great weather change next week.

Here’s a button buck that read the script!

Ended up seeing 10 tonight. Four small bucks and six does. Nice night to be out. Next week's cold front will be really nice. 30° drop from yesterday's high to Tuesday's high.

A blind isn't my first choice but they sure have their place. Pretty neat to have multiple deer less than 10 yards from the blind and have no clue you're in there.

I know why they named them blinds. Cause you can't see sh-t! We could hear deer beside us but couldn't see them at all. I think we heard 2-3 deer that we didn't see.

Well said. Blinds have their place, but every time I sit in one I wish I was in a trees stand :emoji_unamused:

Finally in a tree. Not my best spot but I don't want to stink up the good ones right away.

Just nice to be sitting here.

Good luck! Pouring here again today, 2+ inches the last couple days, hopefully I'll make it out in the A.M.

Made it out tonight, 2+ inches of rain and things are pretty damp

These 2 are regulars a button buck and doe fawn, lots of pics of just them with no doe, kinda like live decoys, the apple tree just outside the blind is still holding thats where they are headed.

I need to find a new job, bout like pulling teeth to get the opportunity to sit in the stand.
Looking like I will have about 8 sits to make it happen this year.
Hoping it only takes the first one.

And that right there explains why I like habitat management just as much if not more.

Rooting for ya,
