I hate Murphy

Oh no, I decided not to touch that nut. The rotor goes over it. When one of the CV's, hubs, or bearings start to go it will probably be best to do them at all that time. In the meantime brakes are done.

You better suck it up and replace that bad boy. I'd hate to think of that nut disintegrating at 60 mph.
Something looks off about those threads separating like that. Almost seems like the threads were somehow cast over a machined axel.

Well I had a shit day! I slipped on the back deck this morning working on my MG project and literally bruised my ass! I was more upset than hurt, but man I was pissed! Landed right on the step and when your lower back turns into your upper butt cheek. Now it's sore as hell! Then on my way back from my folks place I blew a brake line on my truck. So we drove 30 miles or more thru 2 towns with only the front brakes on my truck..... We pinched the line closed as much as we could and then stopped and got more brake fluid and stopped in the towns to refill the reservoir. So I have that added to my weekend projects list. That's just day one of the long weekend.....I hope that's enough ..........

I despise murphy, I was up near Roscoe NY last 3 days building a deck, came home last night and had a disaster on the way. Dang tailgate popped open on the way on a bump, un known when it happened. big deal right, pull over and close it. pouring rain, dark, oh shiz, missing: 5 gallon diesel jug, 5 gallon gas jug, spare tire, chainsaw! son of a .............. sux at times to be me.

OUCH!

That does suck!

On the bright side you're not the guy that ran over a gas can, a diesel can, hit a spare tire and drove a chainsaw bar through his grill. That guy had a shitty day.:emoji_astonished::emoji_fearful:

just got home, drove 280 miles roundtrip to look for said items, recovered one diesel can, one heavy duty strap, burned 15 gallons of fuel, but at least I looked for it....... yeah, guess it would suck to run over a 315 70 17.

Well after I thought I kicked murphy's butt last weekend with my lawn mower, he got even with me this weekend! I had developed an issue (significant vibration when the engine runs) with my riding lawn mower (No - I REFUSE to call it a tractor). I took it to the shop and they told me I had a bent crank...needed new engine....$1,200.... Uhhh, No, ain't gonna do that! I can buy a brand new mower for like $1,700. So I took it home and being somewhat mechanical minded I figured I couldn't break something that was already broke. I pulled the PTO assembly off it and started the engine and low and behold...no more issue! I needed a new PTO NOT a new engine. So an internet search and $150 later (did not get it from the OEM - they wanted $400) I am back in business with my mower.....so I was riding pretty high! Then I went and got my cover crop seed for plots this weekend - got home to go spread it and not only are my plot beans still real green, but my handheld spreader was SNAFU'ed!!! The beans I can cope with.....I just knew my ag fields are yellow and expected the same. The spreader......well for what a new one will cost this one is toast! it served me well, but certainly bit the dust! A part of me said...."I can fix that with some duct tape".....and the other part said, "You tight ass, you can replace it for like $20!"
cant broadcast into beans.jpg

Then Murphy really played a dirty trick and I had a 6 foot chestnut tree get destroyed as well! Deer pulled the cage off the tree and ate and rubbed it to a 3 foot abused stick! That one REALLY pissed me off!

Duct tape would have worked but you made the right call.

deer got 5 cages off myt fresh planted persimmons, knocked all 5 to the ground. so mad I could just shoot one, or several!

Have at'em. What's NJ let everyone shoot a year. Something like 20?

Heck in Indiana I can legally kill nearly 350 deer if I so choose to buy the tags and have the property access!!!

I see some deer that looks like he has some hanker'n for some chestnut tree in it's eye it's getting whacked....that's what they do to scum in Jersey isn't it? They get "whacked"?????? Maybe bust a cap in one? Say "hello" to my lil friend!!!!!

Remind me not to enter a room with plastic on the floor around you!!!!!

Reminds me of a farmer who let a guy they called "Chicago Bob" hunt his place. I've never been around mafia types myself, but he seemed like someone who would put a deer in the trunk, THEN shoot it!!

actually, no limit on deer, 2 at a time, call em in, shoot 2 more, call em in, lather rinse repeat.

Ha, it usually involved ducks or furry woodland creatures.

Sad isn't it?

yup, limits need to be put back in place to bring numbers back up in areas, but doubt that will ever happen. too many deer in areas you can't gett to, and solutin in their minds is to wipe out as manay as possible to draw them out of the safe zones, where they can be harvested......... used to see so many deer, it was crazy.

used to see so many deer, it was crazy.

We did and I was all in favor of more liberal doe tags 20 years ago. Particularly since they came with 3 pt on one side antler restrictions in our area. I had hoped they got it and would bump that up and make it state/region wide. No such luck, they saw the $ and it crashed after that.

As crazy as it sounds I'm certain NJ could rival the Midwest in good mature bucks, particularly in the south and central regions where the soil is so rich. To many triggers and politicians I guess.

I'm as guilty as the next guy. I shot bucks! Then I gave it up all together and hunted ducks for 10 years until I visited the Midwest and saw what a natural deer heard acted and looked like.

A friend texted me today that my sons car got picked up by Mopar Muscle Magazine at the Crysler Nats in Carlise PA.

Pretty cool, we had no idea they photographed it let alone put it in print. I ran out and picked him up a couple copies today.
