I didn't miss

When it comes to taking a shot at a deer or turkey I'm very selective and only go for a sure thing. But when it comes to coyotes, every shot is a shot worth taking.

Last fall I had a yote on the move crossing through some small trees about 200 yds away. It seemed like an impossible shot but I took it anyway. I had about 4 seconds to get the shot off before he disappeared into a brier thicket, and the small trees were blocking him at times while he moved.

"The Force" took control and I saw the yote react but he kept moving.

My dad was out this week looking for sheds and found the evidence. The yote covered several more yards from the spot I shot him before going down. First pic is the yote and second pic shows me standing where the yote was when I took the shot. You can see the blind in the distance.

I hear ya on yote shot placement.

I drove an Xbow bolt through some stuff I'd never shoot a deer through. The yip made it worth it though.

I have become friends with a young man that enjoys coyote hunting the way we love deer and turkey hunting. He hunts only at night with night vision and suppressed rifles. Every time he texts and asks to hunt he gets the same reply: Kill! I hate coyotes.

That would be the best hunting method to put a serious hurt on the yote population. I hate the dang things too!!

Looks like Dad rubbed off a little ?? :emoji_wink: Good shooting. One down=one down.:emoji_thumbsup:

He got a big thrill about finding it. I think it thrilled him more than finding a shed!

When is Dad gonna get back on the yotes there ?? I haven't noticed a yote pic from ole' dead-shot lately. I enjoy following his " notches " he racks up on his gun-belt !!

He's blistered them so bad the last few years, I'm only getting 2 on cameras right now, and they are 80% nighttime. He predicted that he would get both of them right after we mow the fields in early May. He has been hunting the mowed fields to the south of me recently but not getting seeing any yotes.

You might enjoy this story - he is currently taking shots every month in his eyes to help his age related MD. His doctor asked him after his first shots if he had any questions - He asked, "Is it okay for me to be shooting my rifles?" LOL, she looked shocked and told him to fire away!!!!

that coyote must of brushed its teeth everday!

No matter what I'm hunting if I see a coyote I'm coyote hunting. I most definitely take shots at yotes I would never try on anything else.
