Hybrid Willow

I was wondering why you have to buy 25 hybrid at a time and all the rest of the willows are in multipuls of 10 ?

Good question.

All of our hybrids are packaged in bags of 25 pieces. We sell anywhere from 25 pieces to 1000 pieces on any given order.

The "Other" willows are generally sold to home owners / landscaping type people that don't want nearly as many. In the past we sold these willows in quantities of 5 pieces. I upped it to 10 pieces because as an example people were ordering 10 different willows at a quantity of 5 pieces each for a total of 50 pieces. It takes quite a while to sort/bag/label/package each one. And in the end the order was only for 50 pieces. The order value to effort ratio was out of wack :) Hopefully quantities of 10 pieces helps fix that.

Hopefully that answers your question.

Thanks,

So John if I were to plant these in a lower spot in my sand box property would I use your smallest cutting and plant it deep or the larger size and plant that one down 20" or plant it 12" and hope it grows faster than a deer can nibble it off ? Does this make any sense lol ?

In a sandbox I would use 24" hybrid willows and plant them as deep as you can get them. If you could get them 22" deep, great. Every little bit will help them reach moisture.

Don't forget some kind of ground cover too. Unless the site stays naturally wet.

If the deer are interested in them, they WILL eat them. Normally they don't kill them, just keep them pruned down to a little shrub. If the deer start nibbling, I would use a spray deterrent (Plantskydd or Deer Off)
