Good start to 2017

My 2017 season officially kicked off last weekend. Sunday evening this guy came in and offered a shot.
I didn't realize it until I got my hands on him that he had a split brow and a small sticker so that was a great bonus. Looking through photos, we found pictures of him from last year with the same split brow but almost a mile away.

LOVE the character on those tines! Had a buck I called "Flame" I harvested last year with a similar curvy G3 but without the curvy brow tine and curved up G4 tips. Think this might be the favorite buck pic I've seen since joining the forum, and that's saying something! :emoji_beers:

Thanks man. I like him better every time I look at him. Just a pretty deer. I'm very thankful that I got a crack at him. Missed him in velvet by a couple days it looks like. Still has a bit hanging from the bases.
It's funny how sharp the antlers are before they start rubbing. I had to lift him into the back of the ranger by myself so I grabbed his bases and lifted. It cut my hands to shreds. Blood was running down my arms. Small price to pay :)
