Cuddeback's Cuddelink

It is based off of data used not images sent. The number of images is used as an estimate for the data allotted. I have gone over the 750 images and have been well under the 40MB of data and never have been billed extra.
Thank you for the quick reply!

i suggest to anyone running 5 cameras or less to start with he lowest plan and check the overage box, if you do go over you will get approx 1000 more images for $5. Unless you are running several cameras over feed or mineral its rare to use roe than that with only a few cameras. You can then adjust your plan accordingly. I run 10 on each property and its very rare for me to go over the Middle plan. I think it happened to me once all lat year on 3 different properties.
Thanks John, i will try this right away. Based on what i've seen so far, i think it would work for me.

In looking at my pics and I haven't done an actual average, but it seems like the nighttime pics probably average somewhere around 20-25 kb and the daylight pics are probably 40-45 kb. Usually get more nighttime pics rather than daylight pics, so I would guess that for me the average is around 30kb per pic. I should get about 1100 to 1300 pics on 40 MB of data. If I killed the 3 point that is running around my place I would only get about 1/2 the pics that I currently do. I swear he spends all day and night going between 2 of my plots. LOL.

Going to be swapping out batteries on my g series cameras this month to ensure that nothing runs out through the season until hopefully january. What are the best batteries to put in? Are their lithiums that are recommended? Any thoughts? I have been using the regular duracells so far.

Are you running externals or just the camera? I buy the cheapest I can find which has been whatever Menards sells. I’m at day 146 and still running off the 3358 external batteries.

I have externals on everything except 2 which have solar panels. I have had to change batteries on two cameras already(put up mid may). two more showing ext low. hoping to get something in that i can rely on until after the season now

I imagine lithium D cells would get pretty salty. If you’ve had them in since mid May you got about 4 months. A fresh change now should get you through the season. I’m about to do the same thing. Put fresh batteries in my externals and they shouldn’t hit the internal batteries before I pull them down in January.

i buy hi energy rayovac alkaline on eBay for $67 shipped for 100 batteries and have had great luck, i can run my cams all fall for $5-6 a camera

Hi Everyone,
I have a friend that has a G cell model, he has 2 other cameras linked to it and that is all working fine. The issue is on the Home cell G series takes pictures often while nothing is there. He put the delay on 10 min so it would not flood his email. Anyone had this issue? If so and you have a fix I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello,
I wanted an easier way to manage my 6 cuddelinks, getting about 250 pictures/day right now. So I made an app that can receive all the emails sent by cuddelink, puts them in cloud storage, and sorts/filters/organizes my pictures on one simple page. I can "star" all my big bucks to easily find them later, and delete all the photos I don't care about.
I extract all the battery, camera and location info from the EXIF comments and display on the page too, so it's easy to see status of all the cameras at any time.

It would take me some work to deploy this app in a way that other people could use it...just didn't know if there is any interest out there for something like this. Anyone dying to have something like this, or are the emails working just fine for you?

Sounds very interesting...though most stunned by 250 pics/day from 6 cameras. I have 7 and I'm on 600+ pics in ~115 days...I don't consider my property especially game poor just no feeders...

There is quite a bit of redundancy if I have the same deer or coons for a while in front of the camera. Still need to play with the settings I suppose, so I don't get a bunch of the same animals in a row when they park right at the camera. But I don't want delay too high and miss a buck that just comes walking through.
My point being that there's a lot of pictures I have coming in which motivated me to come up with something better to handle large volume of pictures. Downloading from each email got old very fast. Plus trying to find and view the last report to know battery levels is not convenient on mobile.

I have a question on the Cuddeback Home and Home Plus unit. Is Cuddeback still working on the home plus? If I buy a Cuddeback home will I be able to do a software upgrade to get the same features of the home plus if it is released?

do not buy a home unit if this is your goal, this is very much undecided yet whether it will need to be a different unit or a firmware update and there eis no eta on this at this time.

Make sure the time lapse is off both day and night. When I has issues with mine they took pictures non stop no matter what the delay was. I sent them back for replacement, the hardest part was finding time to call during bankers hours

Thanks John,

I am looking to keep the home unit in my cabin hooked up to my laptop. I guess I will wait to see what happens.

Well I made some adjustments to my setup. I setup a timer on my cell booster. I have it come on at 1 AM and then off at 5:30. That should work well with my solar setup at the cabin. Then on my cell I set it up for batch 30. The 2 remotes on the food source I changed from 1 min to 3 min delay and the one remote that I have on a trail I changed from 10 seconds to 30 seconds. This should give me about 30 pics or so per day. In analyzing my setup I think this should work out picture wise. In analyzing a bunch of the pics I wouldn't miss any deer typically with these settings. This hopefully shouldn't jam up my dual cell home since it will only be able to send pics between 1 and 5:30. My reports always go off prior to 5AM. If I hit 30 pics I think it should probably be sometime in the middle of the night.

Also interested. PM me if you're interested in help with the application.
