It may depend on how you planted them and your soils. Mine are doing great and could probably go for a few more weeks of drought with no issue. When you do traditional tillage you lose a lot of soil moisture. I surface broadcast my radish and had enough moisture early on for them to germinate. With my clay, even though we are in a minor drought, (couple inches low), my clay will retain enough moisture to keep them going. A little rain certainly won't hurt but mine are doing well.

Thanks,

Jack

Yours look like they started well, the no rain seems to stall them out you should be fine if you get a decent soaker.
I planted mine end of July and they sprouted right up to a few inches tall but all we have had is a few pickle showers in two months, I need a serious cow pissin on a flat rock rain or mine are a bust this year.

While rainfall is important, as we get into the fall months and the early morning dew sets in we can see that sustaining plants through dry spells. Sounds like you have more rain than we have had but I would not worry to much about it at this point.

As far as rainfall goes, in response to another comment, hard heavy rains are worthless. Most of the water moves away before it can soak in where it is captured within the soil profile for use. We look forward to long slow easy rains. Sometimes these long slow easy rains of say 1/2 an inch will give you more usable soil moisture than a inch hard and fast rain.

Also if anyone cares here is a video series I am working on with a late planted brassica plot with zero rain. It is a work in progress.

And here is a short second video showing how the plot looks today after some much needed rain.

Here is the latest and likely final video taken on 11/2/17 giving my views of the late planted plot and if it was a success or a failure.
