There is nothing like Richard Fayhey's list coming in the mail! It's stirs the imagination and quickens the blood.
Anyone have wants, plans, etc?
I was only going to graft 10, then 15, and now I'm feeling 20.

Merle, Call me about shannon pippin, I gave you my phone number the other day. If long dictance cost you email me your number and I will call you.

Would any of you guys be willing to send a couple sticks to Canada? I would like to add some of the varieties you guys have, but I have trouble finding a source up here. I'd gladly pay for them. I have a few that I could trade if anybody wanted golden delicious, spy, Cortland, maybe bishop's pippin, and a couple wild ones that hang late. I also have a confirmed scion order with many different kinds with a focus on early apples, I had to order the minimum, 300 scions, so I will have lots, but they won't get here until the middle of march, but I can send them then. I will have the following I could send out then to anyone who wanted some: September Ruby, Delbardestivale, Criterion, Sunrise, Empire, Brock, Goodland, Viking, Freedom, Cox's orange pippin, Novamac, Lodi, Sweet Coppin, Fox whelp.

It is difficult to ship across the border. Need to ensure it is disease free and have phytosanitary paperwork to document that.

That figures.....I wondered about that too. Thanks for the info. For what it's worth, my scions on order come from a CFIA certified virus free facility, so do you think I could send those to folks?
On another note, it drives me crazy that we have a replica of the GRIN facility up here, less than 2 hrs from my house, and they do not allow anyone but scientists to get material! I've tried every avenue, even offered to volunteer to prune in the winter, to no avail.

September Ruby and Viking have always sounded interesting but we have the border issue.

What can you tell us about Fox Whelp?

I'm not familiar with this tree from Maya.....care to elaborate? I'm likely interested!

Forgot to mention.....I pruned some today and have some Arkansas black, Enterprise, and galarina. Will also have golden delicious.

I'm not familiar with it either, but Maya's favorite is hard to resist. Rick was gracious enough to send me a few! Thanks Rick!
