I was checking periodically all afternoon. Apparently there were server issues. I can't imagine he sold out 10,000 trees in under 30 minutes.
I'm hoping the stock gets replenished as the new server is fully online. If not, don't feel too bad anyone if you didn't get any. I legitimately was trying and it still didn't work.
In the meantime, anyone have any suggestions for where to buy some decent persimmons?

yep, I was trying to order and when i went to another page got the dreaded 404. The check-out was real slow. I think some varieties were gone in minutes.
I can't imagine a nursery nearly selling out their entire stock in a 30 minute period on a Thursday afternoon in September. Obviously there is serious demand for quality trees. Hopefully they have more trees next year and/or some other nurseries can step up.
When I talked to him about a week ago, he said some of the new varieties and most popular were limited like the Big Dog crab only had ~100 in stock and they disappeared in minutes.
Wow, so disappointed. Been looking forward to this day for a year and probably visited his web page several hundred times. I have a notebook next to my computer with the trees listed in order and update it from time to time. The planting locations are already sprayed and ready for next spring.
As soon as the trees started loading onto the website I started putting them into the cart. Go to checkout and it gives an error because the quantity of trees in the cart now isn't available. Change the quantity and checkout and a different tree is out of stock. This goes in a circle nonstop for a 1/2 hour as I try to check out and keep losing trees. Ended up with zero persimmons, which is really what I wanted the most. Felt like throwing the computer across the room. I did manage to get some crabapple that I wanted, but not all, and not the size either. Really wanted a candy crab but I never did see it as being available.
He said on facebook he was hit with 46,000 people on his site at once and he only had 10,000 trees available. Supposedly a new server next year, but until he gets the whole available inventory verses cart thing figured out its still going to be a disaster.
That is insane.....I may buy some of their Dolgo rootstock and focus on getting cuttings and make my own. Hell, for how trees are selling, maybe I need to start a nursery lol.
Unfortunately Ryan is not a large operation but has awesome trees. I set my alarm for 2am on a work night last spring, every time I went to cash out it had insufficient stock to fill my order and kicked me back to the order page. In the end I never got anything ordered. This also happened with the previous fall order but I got up at normal time, I suggested to Ryan to put a limit on how many trees one customer can buy at a time so one person doesn't clean out everything.
I think the best approach is to focus on one item and buy the amount you want, then go back in and try for the 2nd one you want most but cash out after each time you pick.
